There was no surprise when 7th rankedMagic (4-3) was outleveled by top-ranked Cougars (6-0) in Mandurah 91-67 on Friday. Cockburn dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Magic 's 38. The winners were led by guard Alex Ciabattoni (183-1994, college: Newman) who scored that evening 17 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and guard Jewel Williams (168-2001) supported her with 13 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Five Cougars players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 17 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists by American guard Mikayla Pivec (178-1997, college: Oregon St.) did not help to save the game for Mandurah . Jade Gowland added 17 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cougars have an impressive six-game winning streak. Cockburn maintains first position with 6-0 record. Loser Magic dropped to the sixth place with three games lost.
