There was an upset when higher rankedTigers (4-5) were edged by eighteenth ranked United (2-7) in Geelong 71-68 on Saturday. Geelong U. forced 19 Melbourne T. turnovers. Strangely Melbourne T. outrebounded Geelong U. 44-31 including 35 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by point guard Lilly Rotunno (170-2004) who scored that evening 23 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Jordan Vasquez (183, college: CSUSM) supported her with 15 points and 7 rebounds. United's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Even 32 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists by the former international power forward Zitina Aokuso (193-1998) did not help to save the game for Melbourne T. . Chinese forward Shuyu Yang (182-2002) added 12 points and 5 assists for the guests. Geelong U. moved-up to eighth place, which they share with C.Districts L. and Northern Force. Loser Tigers keeps the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with Kilsyth and Waverley F..
