There was a minor upset in Greensborough where their close opponentDiamond Valley Eagles (2-7) were defeated by fifteenth ranked Ringwood Hawks (4-6) 98-88 on Saturday. Ringwood forced 22 Diamond V.E. turnovers. Strangely Diamond V.E. outrebounded Ringwood 36-24 including 22 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Chris Brandon (203, college: NKU, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) who helped to win the game recording 21 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Jonathan Lawton (188-1996, college: FSC) who added 15 points and 7 assists during the contest. Brandon is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five Ringwood Hawks players scored in double figures. Guard Mirko Djeric (193-1995) responded with 22 points and 8 assists and Archer Woodhill scored 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ringwood Hawks have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Mt.Gambier. Diamond V.E. lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with 6 other teams.
