There was no surprise when 7th rankedSharks (3-3) lost to fifth ranked Bruins (7-2) in Condell Park 68-81 on Sunday. Bankstown B. dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Sharks 's 28. Bankstown B. forced 19 Sutherland turnovers. The winners were led by naturalized New Zealand guard Tahlia Tupaea (175-1997) who scored that evening 20 points and 8 rebounds and French Margot de Freitas (188-2000) supported her with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Bruins' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 29 points and 8 rebounds by forward Madeleine Norris (175-1998) did not help to save the game for Sutherland . Swingman Abigail Curtin (185-1997, college: Denver) added 7 points and 13 rebounds for the guests. Bruins have an impressive six-game winning streak. Bankstown B. moved-up to second place, which they share with Diamond VE and Sturt S. Loser Sharks dropped to the eighth position with three games lost.
