There was a small surprise when eighteenth rankedUnited (2-7) beat their close opponent Hawks (1-9) in Heathmont 100-84 on Sunday. Geelong U. made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by point guard Indiah Bowyer (171-2003) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists and American forward Jordan Vasquez (183, college: CSUSM) supported her with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Even a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) by forward Emma Clarke (186-2000, college: Colorado) did not help to save the game for Ringwood . Indian center Harsimran Kaur (193-2003, college: URI) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Five Geelong U. and four Ringwood players scored in double figures. Hawks' coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Geelong U. moved-up to eighth place, which they share with C.Districts L. and Northern Force. Ringwood lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the nineteenth position with nine games lost.
