Regular Season Round 8: Ringwood H. - Geelong U. 84-100
Date: May 10, 2026
There was a small surprise when eighteenth rankedUnited (2-7) beat their close opponent Hawks (1-9) in Heathmont 100-84 on Sunday. Geelong U. made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by point guard Indiah Bowyer (171-2003) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists and American forward Jordan Vasquez (183, college: CSUSM) supported her with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Even a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) by forward Emma Clarke (186-2000, college: Colorado) did not help to save the game for Ringwood . Indian center Harsimran Kaur (193-2003, college: URI) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Five Geelong U. and four Ringwood players scored in double figures. Hawks' coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Geelong U. moved-up to eighth place, which they share with C.Districts L. and Northern Force. Ringwood lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the nineteenth position with nine games lost. Geelong U. will meet at home higher ranked Knox R. (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ringwood will play against the league's leader Sandringham S. (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
