There was a small surprise in Morley where sixth rankedBuccaneers (5-2) outleveled one of their biggest challengers Eagles (5-3) 102-74 on Sunday. Geraldton B. made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Geraldton B. outrebounded East Perth E. 46-27 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Geraldton B. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Cooper Creek (203-2001, college: Assumption) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Joshua Keyes (201-1995, college: Muskingum) who added 28 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) during the contest. Keyes attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. Five Buccaneers players scored in double figures. Naturalized South Sudanese forward Lat Mayen (206-1998, college: Nebraska) responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward David Okwera (208-2002) scored 16 points and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Geraldton B. moved-up to fourth place. Loser Eagles dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Joondalup W. and Bendigo.
