Rather predictable result in Heathmont where fifteenth rankedRingwood Hawks (4-6) beat 19th ranked United (1-8) 105-95 on Sunday. Strangely Geelong U. outrebounded Ringwood 33-20 including 24 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. Ringwood looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Ringwood made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Dutch forward Thomas Carroll (200-2003) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and American guard Jonathan Lawton (188-1996, college: FSC) who added 28 points during the contest. Lawton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Demarcus Gatlin (193-1992, college: SHSU) responded with 24 points and 7 assists and naturalized South Sudanese power forward Deng Riak (208-1995, college: Akron, agency: BIG) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Five Ringwood and four Geelong U. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ringwood Hawks have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Mt.Gambier. Geelong U. lost sixth consecutive game.
