There was a surprise result when ninth rankedForce (2-3) defeated 4th placed Capitals (4-3) in Booval 97-85 on Saturday. Ipswich F. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American swingman Lamar Patterson (196-1991, college: Pittsburgh) nailed 26 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Jason Ralph (178-1995, college: VCSU) accounted for 18 points and 5 assists. Five Force players scored in double figures. Forward Jarred Bairstow (201-1992, college: UCO) came up with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and center Ben Volkman (206-1997, college: Maryville, MO) added 9 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Brisbane C. in the defeat. Capitals' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ipswich F. moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Townsville H. Loser Capitals keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with SD Spartans.
