There was a minor upset when 7th rankedLady Bandits (6-6) lost to ninth ranked Hawks (5-6) in Albury 66-70 on Saturday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Illawarra H. made 8 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for center Darcy Rees (193-2000, college: Washington) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks. American guard Una Jovanovic (175, college: TCU) accounted for 22 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four Hawks players scored in double figures. American forward Unique Thompson (190-1999, college: Auburn) came up with 22 points and 21 rebounds and Emily Lyttle added 22 points and 5 assists respectively for Albury in the defeat. Illawarra H. moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Lakeside L. Albury at the other side dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with S.Adelaide P..
