There was no surprise when 18th rankedUnited (3-11) was outleveled by sixth ranked Ballarat Miners (8-6) in Wendouree 95-73 on Saturday. Ballarat M. looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Geelong U. 's players. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Malia Fisher (188, college: Rice, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Casey Samuels (183-1994) accounted for 18 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. Ballarat Miners' coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Indiah Bowyer (171-2003) came up with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Jordan Vasquez (183, college: CSUSM) added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Geelong U. in the defeat. Five Ballarat M. and four Geelong U. players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Ballarat M. went down to seventh position due to points difference. Geelong U. lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighteenth place with 11 games lost.
