Regular Season Round 11: SD Spartans - SC Phoenix 65-85

There was a surprise result when seventh rankedSunshine CP (4-4) rolled over on the road second-ranked Brisbane Spartans (7-2) 85-65 on Sunday. SC Phoenix dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Brisbane Spartans ' 26. SC Phoenix outrebounded SD Spartans 44-29 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. SC Phoenix looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Erin Bollmann (180-1994, college: SEMO) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Isabel Palmer (175-2001, college: Utah) accounted for 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Four Sunshine CP players scored in double figures. Forward Hayley McDowell-White (178-2005) came up with 15 points and 5 rebounds and guard Jessica McDowell-White (168-2000, college: USF) added 6 points and 7 assists respectively for SD Spartans in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SC Phoenix moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Northside W. SD Spartans at the other side keep the second position with two games lost. They share it with Mackay.
