Everything went according to plan in Canberra where first rankedExcellence (12-1) won against 8th ranked Sydney City Comets (6-7) 76-62 on Sunday. BA CoE made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when BA CoE made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for guard Alexander Dickeson (191-2007) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Curtis Evic helped adding 9 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Ahmed Barba-Bey (190, college: FDU) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import Akil Douglas (208-1994, college: Clark Atlanta) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Sydney City Comets' coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Excellence . BA CoE maintains first place with 12-1 record. Loser Sydney City Comets dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with Bendigo and Ringwood.
