    UC Capitals earn WNBL title - Mar 4, 2020


    Canberra - Southside 71-68

    Canberra Capitals celebrated their ninth WNBL title. They beat Southside tonight to complete the sweep of the championship series. The hosts trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 36-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. French point guard Olivia Epoupa (165-94, agency: Two Points) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists and was named the Finals MVP. The former international center Marianna Tolo (196-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Guard Rebecca Cole (178-92) replied with 23 points and American center Mercedes Russell (198-95, college: Tennessee) added 14 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Southside Flyers. Four Southside Flyers players scored in double figures.
