A 6'9" forward from Texas, Alexander joins the Hawks having not played professionally since October 2018.
Alexander played college basketball for Texas A&M and Grand Canyon before splitting his first three years as a professional in Australia and the NBA G League. He won a SEABL championship with the Mount Gambier Pioneers in 2017 and an NBA G League championship with the Austin Spurs in 2018.
It will be his third stint in Western Australia, having played for the Lakeside Lightning in the former State Basketball League (SBL) in 2016 and 2018. In the SBL, now known as NBL1 West, he was All-Star Five both seasons and was the league's scoring champion in 2018.
Alexander's last playing stint was in Sweden during the 2018-19 season. A knee injury ended his season early, and due to recovery and ultimately the COVID-19 pandemic, he has been unable to return to the court since.
The 2023 NBL1 West season is set to get underway on Friday 31 March, with the Hawks hosting the East Perth Eagles at Bendat Basketball Centre.
Alexander's return season will see him team up with his former Lightning teammate and fellow American Jack Isenbarger. Alongside them will be returning Hawks Ben Purser, Bailey Cole, Adrian Nobensi, Cooper Hamilton and Adrian Nobensi.
