Joondalup W. - Warwick S. 98-102

Not a big story in a game when 4th ranked Wanneroo (2-2) lost to top-ranked Senators (3-0) in Joondalup 98-102 on Thursday. Warwick S. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by the former international guard Elijah Pepper (193-2001, college: UC Davis) who scored that evening 48 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Cooper Creek (203-2001, college: Assumption) supported him with 13 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 31 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) by American guard Joey Baker (201-2000, college: Michigan) did not help to save the game for Joondalup W.. His fellow American import swingman CJ Turnage (201-1995, college: SVSU) added 22 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for lost side. Senators have a solid three-game winning streak. Warwick S. keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Canberra B. and Sutherland. Loser Wanneroo keeps the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with 11 other teams. Warwick S. will meet at home Perth R. (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Joondalup W. will play against East Perth E. in Morley and hope to secure a win.
