Samoa and Tahiti advance into semifinal stage

Quarterfinals

Samoa - New Caledonia 60-41
Samoa cruised past New Caledonia to reach the semifinal stage. Samoa claimed a 31:21 halftime lead. They held New Caledonia to just 20 points in the second half and rallied to the win. Nive Lale (173-SF-04) tossed in 14 points, while Kalista Niu (173-G-02) added 12 points for Samoa. Maimiti Tetuanui (06) replied with 8 points for New Caledonia.

Guam - Tahiti 32-70
Tahiti secured the semifinal berth. They stormed past Guam in the quarterfinal clash. Tahiti claimed a 32:16 halftime lead. They sank 38 points in the second half to ease to the victory. Hereiti Salem (163-PG-02) connected for 18 points, while Tearere Richmond (184-C-04) had 11 points for Tahiti. Kirsten Silva (157-PG-03) replied with 9 points for Guam.

7-8 Place

Papua New Guinea - Cook Islands 59-58
Papua New Guinea finished in the seventh position at the tournament. They nipped Cook Islands to earn the 7th position. Papua New Guinea eked out a 30:27 halftime lead. Cook Islands tied things up at 43 heading into the fourth term. But Papua New Guinea managed to run away with a narrow win at the end. Magdalene Javapro (G-03) was unstoppable with 42 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Hoana-Rose Solomon (03) and Tikara Jallow (04) replied with 14 points each for Cook Islands.
