PJ Saints are crowned NBL champions. They outgunned IMS Hawks in the Grand Final at the TSB Bank Arena in Wellington. The victory marked the eighth overall title for the Saints. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Saints's pressure prevailed and they won that period 23-10 extending their advantage to 16 points. Saints outrebounded Hawks 45-33 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Brandon Bowman (206-84, college: Georgetown) stepped up and scored 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Corey Webster (188-88, college: Lambuth) chipped in 22 points and 6 assists. Four Saints players scored in double figures. At the losing side international guard Everard Bartlett (193-86) responded with 23 points and American power forward Dustin Scott (203-85, college: Charleston) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds.
