There were just three rounds played in Regular Season of State League and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Camberwell (2-1) in Melbourne on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by Devils (2-0) 95-55. Devils forced 32 Camberwell turnovers. It was a good game for American guard Amanda Paschal (170-1996, college: Kentucky) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. Center Dyani Ananiev (186-2004) contributed with 31 points and 6 steals for the winners. Devils' coach Gerard Hillier felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gemma Fyffe answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds for Camberwell. Devils is looking forward to face Suns (#4) in Upwey in the next round. Camberwell will play on the road against Boomers in Bulleen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another interesting game for Rockets (1-0) which played in Gawler against Lions (0-1). Rockets had an easy win 80-63. It was a great evening for the former international guard Lauren Mansfield (170-1989, college: Iowa St.) who led her team to a victory scoring 24 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Tayla Corrigan helped adding 14 points. Rockets' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Jaedyn De La Cerda (175, college: N.Mexico) with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Rockets will play against Eagles in Goodwood in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lions will play on the road against Warriors (#10) in Flinders Park and hope to get finally their first victory.
An interesting game was also tough home loss of Tigers in a game in Morphett Vale versus undefeated Eagles (#3) 64-58. It was an exceptional evening for Rachael Hines who led the winners and scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Mollie McKendrick came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for Tigers in the defeat. Eagles will meet at home Rockets in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tigers will play against Mavericks (#7) in Mt. Barker and look forward to get finally their first victory.

Sherbrooke S. managed to outperform McKinnon C. in Upwey 72-56. Hume City B. managed to beat Sunbury J. at home 71-64. Winless Eastern M. lost to undefeated S.Adelaide P. on the opponent's court 59-82. W.Adelaide B. beat Woodville W. in a home game 81-63. Sturt S. destroyed Norwood F. on the road 88-55. Bankstown B. managed to outperform Illawarra H. on its own court 78-70. Penrith P. lost to undefeated BA CoE in Canberra 81-88. Manly Warr. SE defeated Cent.Coast C. at home 88-79. Hills H. lost to undefeated Albury LB on the opponent's court 53-101. Newcastle F. won against Canberra N. in a home game 61-52. Winless Inner WB was outscored by Sutherland S. on the road 88-68. Sydney C. rolled over Hornsby S. on its own court 109-53. Winless Illawarra H. lost to undefeated BA CoE in Canberra 50-86. Maitland M. was smashed by Norths B. at home 50-73. Canberra N. lost to Cent.Coast C. on the opponent's court 81-90. Winless Logan T. lost to undefeated SW Metro P. in a home game 47-59. Rockhampton C. managed to beat Mackay M. on the road 82-80. Winless Brisbane C. lost to undefeated Northside W. on its own court 64-95. Gold Coast R. smashed NGC Seahawks in a road game 89-53. USC Rip destroyed SC Phoenix at home 75-54. Winless SD Spartans lost to undefeated Darwin S. on the opponent's court 72-80. Winless Townsville F. lost to undefeated Cairns D. in a home game 80-98. Winless RedCity R. lost to undefeated Ipswich F. on the road 65-82.

Bulleen B. - Pakenham W. 84-74

No shocking result in a game when Boomers (2-0) beat Warriors (0-2) in Bulleen 84-74 on Saturday. Boomers forced 21 Warriors turnovers and outrebounded them 44-27 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Catelyn Van Es who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward Olivia Bontempelli (179-1993) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. Canadian guard Haille Nickerson (170, college: Memorial) came up with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and American guard Samantha Romanowski (175-1996, college: Denver) added 13 points and 5 assists respectively for Warriors in the defeat. Four Boomers and five Warriors players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Boomers will meet at home Jets (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Warriors will play against Hume City Broncos in Tullamarine and look forward to get finally their first victory.

They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Cougars' players. It was an exceptional evening for New Zealand forward Alicia Carline (190-1993, college: Portland St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 29 rebounds. Stephanie Pal accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four Suns players scored in double figures. American forward Briana Gray (178, college: Weber St.) came up with 13 points and guard Emily Suckling (168, college: California, PA) added 13 points respectively for Cougars in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Suns will meet at home Devils in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cougars will play against Warriors and hope to win that game.

Four Bruins players scored in double figures. Bruins' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Ella Dent came up with 22 points and 7 rebounds and Chelsea Hogg added 15 points respectively for Hawks in the defeat. Bruins will meet Comets (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. It was an exceptional evening for center Jessica Petrie (186-2005) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 4 assists. Power forward Jayda Clark (183-2005) accounted for 16 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Five BA CoE players scored in double figures. Guard Tahlia Tupaea (175-1997) came up with 45 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (went 14 for 14 at the free throw line !!!) and forward Megan Jefferson (190, college: Hawaii) added 24 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Panthers in the defeat. Panthers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BA CoE will meet at home North Bears (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Panthers will play against Crusaders in Terrigal and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
