Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game between third ranked Cougars (7-2) and sixth ranked Melbourne Uni (5-4) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Cougars were crushed by Melbourne Uni in Melbourne 82-62. Strangely McKinnon outrebounded Melbourne Uni 53-38 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Zac Polglaze fired a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Forward Joel Rimes (196) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Shaquille Maharaj (196-1997, college: Camosun) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Melbourne Uni moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Shepparton and Pakenham. McKinnon at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. Melbourne Uni is looking forward to face Sunbury (#8) at home in the next round. McKinnon will play against the league's leader Keysborough (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in McKinnon. Third ranked Cougars faced 4th placed Redbacks. Host Cougars (7-2) smashed guests from (6-4) 105-85. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Mitchell Barry (190) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Shannon Fowler contributed with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American guard Darnell Hoskins Jr (180, college: SVSU, agency: 6th Man Basketball Agency) answered with 28 points for RMIT. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. McKinnon maintains third place with 7-2 record behind leader Keysborough. RMIT at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. McKinnon will play against league's leader Keysborough on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. RMIT will play against Shepparton and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Camberwell can celebrate finally their first win this season after seven consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Jets (3-5) 110-85 on Saturday. At the losing side Byron Gladden responded with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Hume City defeated Shepparton in Tullamarine 98-81. RMIT smashed Bellarine at home 100-78. Wyndham was destroyed by Pakenham on the opponent's court 102-69. Sunbury unfortunately lost to Pakenham in a home game 86-103. Keysborough rolled over Blackburn on the road 92-71.



Camberwell - Sunbury 110-85

Camberwell can celebrate finally their first win this season after seven consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Jets (3-5) 110-85 on Saturday. Camberwell forced 25 Sunbury turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Sean Conway (196-2001, college: St.John's, agency: Warren Sports International) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 4 assists. There was no surprise in Shepparton where 5th ranked Gators (5-4) were defeated by second ranked Hume City Broncos (7-1) 98-81 on Saturday. Hume City forced 19 Shepparton turnovers. It was a great evening for American guard Ricardo Time (188, college: Idaho Coll.) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. New Zealand Zach Mckenzie (-2002) helped adding 21 points. At the losing side American forward Bryce Brown (203, college: Lindsey Wilson) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import forward Ryan Batte (198-1999, college: Thomas More) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hume City Broncos have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 7-1 record behind leader Keysborough. Loser Gators keeps the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Pakenham and Melbourne Uni. Hume City will meet at home bottom-ranked Camberwell (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shepparton will play against Wyndham (#9) in Werribee and hope to secure a win.

Five RMIT and four Bellarine players scored in double figures. Rather expected game in Pakenham where 9th ranked Devils (2-6) were rolled over by seventh ranked Warriors (5-4) 102-69 on Saturday. Pakenham dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Devils's 28. Pakenham forced 22 Wyndham turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Wyndham's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Pakenham made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for Ned Carr who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Joshua Dow (198-1995, college: Cumberlands) helped adding 17 points and 8 rebounds. Four Warriors players scored in double figures. His fellow American import forward Gerrard Newby (196-1995, college: Union, KY) helped adding 25 points and 8 rebounds. Four Cougars players scored in double figures.
