Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most important game in the last round took place in Bellarine between third ranked Warriors (6-3) and ninth ranked Storm (3-6) on Saturday night. Warriors were crushed by Storm on the road 94-67. Bellarine looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Bellarine made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Rohan Jarvie who scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Max Kos chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. Storm's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Atien Acuel (201-2001, agency: Crossover Management) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the guests. Bellarine maintains ninth position with 3-6 record. Pakenham at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. Bellarine are looking forward to face Melbourne Uni (#10) at home in the next round. Pakenham will play against the league's second-placed Sunbury (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Melbourne. Second ranked Jets faced 4th ranked Camberwell. Guests from Sunbury (6-2) defeated host Camberwell (5-4) 86-74. American guard Ishmael Sanders (188-1992, college: C-N) orchestrated the victory by scoring 40 points (!!!), 5 assists and 4 steals. Milan Savic contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. American point guard Brennen Burns (178-2002, college: SHSU) replied with 23 points for Camberwell. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sunbury maintains second position with 6-2 record behind leader Gippsland Utd. Camberwell at the other side dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. Sunbury will play against Pakenham (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Camberwell will play against the league's leader Gippsland Utd and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Wyndham will meet higher ranked Warrandyte (#8) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. RMIT will play against the league's second-placed Sunbury and will have a slim chance for a victory.

Rest of the games of round 8 were very predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Pakenham defeated McKinnon in a road game 93-75. Melbourne Uni was beaten by Warrandyte at home 86-103. McKinnon lost to Gippsland Utd on the opponent's court 99-104. Bellarine unfortunately lost to Hume City in a home game 91-95.

McKinnon - Pakenham 75-93

There was no surprise in McKinnon where 7th ranked Cougars (4-5) were defeated by third ranked Warriors (6-3) 93-75 on Sunday. Pakenham had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Jamie Blanchard (198, college: STAC) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Ryan Batte (198-1999, college: Thomas More, agency: Dominion Sports Group) who added 19 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Warriors players scored in double figures. Center Kierell Green (203-1997, college: Edinboro, agency: YoungGroup Unlimited) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds and guard Troyce Manassa (193-1993, college: SSU) scored 12 points. Cougars' coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Pakenham maintains third position with 6-3 record behind leader Gippsland Utd. Loser Cougars keeps the seventh place with five games lost. Pakenham will meet at home league's second-placed Sunbury in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. McKinnon will play against Hume City (#4) in Tullamarine and hope to secure a win.

However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Gippsland Utd made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game.
