The most important game in the last round took place in Bellarine between third ranked Warriors (6-3) and ninth ranked Storm (3-6) on Saturday night. Warriors were crushed by Storm on the road 94-67. Bellarine looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Bellarine made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Rohan Jarvie who scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Max Kos chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. Storm's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Atien Acuel (201-2001, agency: Crossover Management) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the guests. Bellarine maintains ninth position with 3-6 record. An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Melbourne. Second ranked Jets faced 4th ranked Camberwell. Guests from Sunbury (6-2) defeated host Camberwell (5-4) 86-74. American guard Ishmael Sanders (188-1992, college: C-N) orchestrated the victory by scoring 40 points (!!!), 5 assists and 4 steals. Milan Savic contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. American point guard Brennen Burns (178-2002, college: SHSU) replied with 23 points for Camberwell. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sunbury maintains second position with 6-2 record behind leader Gippsland Utd. Camberwell at the other side dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. Sunbury will play against Pakenham (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Camberwell will play against the league's leader Gippsland Utd and hopes to get back on the winning track.
