We bring you last week's top performances from New Zealanders who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.
#1. This week's number one is an international swingman
Zac Carter (203-89, currently plays in Australia). He led
Brisbane Capitals to a victory over the 12th-ranked Roar (1-4) crushing them
97-68 in a derby game in the Australian State League (second division) in Saturday night's game.
Carter was MVP of the game. He recorded 25 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 30 minutes on the court.
in group NBL1 North. Brisbane Capitals (5-3) are placed third.
It's Carter's seventh season with the team.
This year Carter averages: 7.9ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.1apg, 2FGP: 17.6%, 3FGP: 37.5% and FT: 63.2% in eight games he played so far.
He has a dual citizenship: New Zealand and Australian.
Ex-Advice First Waikato Pistons player is currently a member of the New Zealand senior national team.
#2. Second place goes to former U18 international forward
Sioeli Vaiangina (202-98, college:
Panola JC, currently plays in Australia). Vaiangina could not help
Wanneroo (7-1) to beat Redbacks (6-4).
He recorded 9 points.
But the first-placed Wanneroo (7-1) were defeated
100-87 on the road by the lower-ranked Redbacks (#7) in the NBL1 West group.
Vaiangina has relatively good stats this season: 11.2ppg, 5.1rpg, 2FGP: 57.1%(40-70), 3FGP: 25.0% and FT: 55.3%.
He played for the New Zealand U18 national team in 2014.
#3. The New Zealand player who performed third best last week abroad was an international guard
Shea Ili (184-92, currently plays in Australia). Ili managed to help Melbourne United in a victory against the seventh-ranked Perth Wildcats (4-9)
83-74 in the Australian NBL on Sunday night.
He scored only 4 points in 18 minutes.
Melbourne United (27-8) is placed first in the NBL.
This year Ili's overall stats are: 6.7ppg, 2.5rpg, 2.0apg, 2FGP: 41.7%, 3FGP: 41.9% and FT: 77.8% in 32 games.
He is also a member of the New Zealand senior national team.
#4. An experienced guard
Zane Meehl (188-86, college:
Mid-Continent, currently plays in Australia) was not able to help
Phoenix (6-1) in their last game on Friday. Despite Meehl's very good performance Phoenix (#3) was defeated
96-90 in Booval by the much lower-ranked Ipswich Force (#11) in the NBL1 North group.
He recorded 15 points and added 5 passes.
Meehl's total stats this season are: 9.2ppg, 4.0rpg and 4.0apg.
He is another player who holds two passports: New Zealand and Australian.
Meehl is also New Zealand national team player.
#5. Former international guard
Ezra Nikora (183-91, currently plays in Australia) contributed to an easy victory against the 11th-ranked Slammers (2-6) crushing them
88-53 in the Australian State League (second division) on Saturday night.
He recorded only 3 points and added 4 passes.
in group NBL1 West. Perth Redbacks (12-6) are placed .
It's Nikora's first season with the team.

He used to play for the New Zealand national team

#6. Center
Tane Kirisome (206-3, currently plays in Australia) contributed to
Thunder's victory against the third-ranked Brisbane Capitals (5-3)

Kirisome recorded only 2 points.
