The round was exceptionally exciting as three games ended with a tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Dolphins as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Dolphins smashed 8th ranked Flames in Cairns 92-67. Cairns D. dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Flames's 30. American forward Mia Loyd (181-1994, college: N.Dakota, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists. Guard Brooke Basham (178-1997) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international swingman Courtney Woods (183-1997, college: NIU) replied with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for Townsville F.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Dolphins (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Townsville F. at the other side dropped to the ninth place with two games lost. Townsville F. will play next round against SC Phoenix trying to get back on the winning streak. Cairns D. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
Undefeated Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (8-1) recorded its first loss in Condell Park. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Bruins (7-2) 82-65. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Shyla Heal (167-2001, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 assists and Tahlia Tupaea who added 11 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Bruins' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Alex Delaney (183-1995, college: SFC) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Bruins have an impressive six-game winning streak. Bankstown B. moved-up to second place, which they share with Diamond VE and Sturt S. Manly Warr. SE at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Sandringham S.. Bankstown B. will play against Canberra N. (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Manly Warr. SE will play against Sydney C. (#12) in Alexandria and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Very important is a home loss of first ranked Brisbane Spartans (5-1) against seventh ranked Wizards (2-1) on Saturday night. Host Brisbane Spartans were defeated by Wizards in a tough game in Brisbane 82-86. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Brisbane Spartans. The winners were led by Kahlaijah Dean who scored that evening 22 points and 6 assists. Even 24 points by Jessica McDowell-White did not help to save the game for SD Spartans. Northside W. moved-up to fifth place. Loser Brisbane Spartans dropped to the second position with one game lost. Northside W. will meet at home Townsville F. (#9) in the next round. SD Spartans will play against NGC Seahawks (#11) in Runaway Bay and hope to secure a win.
