First defeat of league's leader Geelong Supercats (4-1) against seventh ranked Waverley Falcons (4-1) 99-95 was the most important game of the last round. It was a key game for the second position in League. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Durrell McDonald (188, college: Mercyhurst) who helped to win the game recording 28 points. Guard Jake Heath (185, college: SD Mines) contributed with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international swingman Owen Odigie (196-93) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for Geelong Supercats. Waverley Falcons moved-up to second place in League. Geelong Supercats will play next round against Tigers trying to make it back to the top of the standings. The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked Wanneroo as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Wanneroo smashed bottom-ranked Suns in Joondalup 84-61. At the losing side American forward Chris Johnson (201-90, college: UIW) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Suns at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. Suns will play next round against strong Tigers trying to get back on the winning streak. Wanneroo will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Magic at Mandurah.
