The best team in the regular season, the Ngermid Rivals, were unable to claim the 2007 NBL trophy. They were defeated by the #3 seeded Peched in the final game 83-73. The Peched won their quarterfinal game 91-84 against Surangel and their semifinal contest 73-66 over the Ikelauans who have defeated the #2 seeded Breakers in the previous round.

In the Division II, the #15 Mason's Hardware caused a major upset as they defeated the #2 Jaguars in the first round. The team also won over Peches, Mesekiu and the Bullets in the division final to take an unexpected title.

The Koror Elementary School Stars (KES) won the 2007 Elementary School Boys division over the SDA Kings 62-60 with a final basket with 4 seconds to go. The Kings were undefeated during the regular season but lost against the defending champions.

First timer SDA "Kings" despite no loss in the entire season faced their biggest challenger in the season championship game. Koror Elementary School are the defending champions of last years program. This year they lost in the regular round to the SDA Kings so they were ranked #2 in the playoffs, even in the championship game they were the underdogs and sure enough gave their best in defending their title from last year. The final score was 62-60 as Terry from KES A sank the last two points in the last 4 seconds of the game. However SDA Kings used their last timeout and designed a play for their team. KES A Stars Head coach designed a defense to protect their lead and the final seconds result favored KES A Stars as they succesfully defended the last shot. Trophies were designed from the Jailhouse 3on3 inmates, made of local cared wood designed imitating basketballs on wooden handles. The Main Sponsors of the programs were Honorable Senator Santy Asanuma and Mike Ongalibang of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Program of the Ministry of Health who enjoyed the championship game and awarded the prices to the participants.
The 1st round of both division I and division II conluded on February 13th 2007. Division I will play a round robin again in their 2nd round of the regular season. In division II, based on the rankings of the 1st round, the 16 teams were divided into 2 pools of 8 teams with the even number ranked teams on Pool I and the odd numbers in pool II.

The Shell NBL commenced on November 27th and will conclude in May 2007. The league has again set a new record with 26 teams this season.
The three new teams were added to the 13 teams in division II from last season for a total of 16 teams. In division I, all 10 teams from last season returned.

The league will fallow the format of last season were teams play within their division for the division title. All teams will then play for the season finals to determine their rankings for the next season. Games are played at the National Gym starting at 6pm from Mon-Sat. An estimated total of over 200 games will played in a span of 6 months. Shell Palau Company is the Main Sponsor of the league and donated funds to help in running the program as well as the development of the national squad.
Palau High School (PHS) Green Machine won this years boys varsity championship over Emmaus High School (EHS) Knights. The program commenced on October 19th and concluded on November 1st. 5 teams from 4 high schools participated in this single round robin competition.

This year PHS which has the largest enrollment of students in Palau had only 1 team to represent their school compared to 2 teams from last year and 4 from the previos years. Midzenty High School (MHS) Cardinals had 2 teams and came in 3rd and 4th place. Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Crusaders places 5th. The Championship game drew a big crowd from both PHS and EHS Students, even MHS students came to cheer for EHS Knights because they were underdogs and they were closer to their school. Yutaka Gibbons Jr. coached the Green Machine, while Dwight Alexander coached the Knights of Emmaus. The Knights were leading by 4 points at halftime by a score of 27-31. Through big cheers from the fans of PHS Green Machine, half court defensive traps and the scoring of slasher Gary Olkeriil who finished the game with 24 points. The Green Machine never looked back and finished the game by a final score of 79-65. Yutaka Gibbons Jr. is an excellent example of coaching in the program because of his past experience in the National Team and also through the various coaching trainings conducted by Fiba Oceania Zone Develompment Officer Stuart Manwarring.
